3-30 Fridge shot
What’s in our fridge?  As you can see we stocked up on water ~ with summer coming it’s a necessity to always have some on hand to carry with us when we go out.

3-29 Tulip
My adorable little Tulip :)  I’ve always loved giraffes ~ they’re so graceful and they have the most gorgeous eyelashes.  My hubby bought me this one a long time ago and she still holds a special place in our living room (and our hearts).

3-28 PlantsThese are the plants that greet me as I’m walking down our steps every day. I'm not sure what they’re called, but I think the red one is gorgeous!  Love the green ones, too (don't want to hurt their feelings ... )

3-27 Costco Dog
Guess where we went today?  If you said Costco, you’d be right ~ not that you'd win anything :)  Cheapest lunch or dinner in town~ $1.50 for a dog and a drink ~ and it usually fills me up for the day.

3-26 Wii Glow
See that little blue glow on the Wii?  That means that it’s talking to our router so that we can stream movies and TV shows through Netflix.  How fun!   (Sorry about the blurry photo.)

3-25 Mom's Wreath My mother made this wreath out of seashells that she collected on the beach ~ I think it’s gorgeous!

3-24 Moe's
Found this piece of artwork at Moe’s (one of our favorite places for Southwest cuisine – aka burritoes, etc.).  They have a lot of these really colorful pieces, with different sayings, all over the restaurant.  This one was above our table, so that’s how it got its picture taken.

3-23 New Sweet TomatoesFirst glance at our new Sweet Tomatoes ~ I love the way this one is laid out.  Sure hope they add their New England Clam Chowder on a daily basis (they didn’t have any today) ~ it’s the best!

Took this photo with my phone ~ not the best, but you get the idea :)

Week 11 LO - Only an Aunt
Two of my granddaughters with their Aunt Melissa.

3-22 Cool Fabric, Mon I found a dress at Goodwill about  6 weeks ago with this fabric as the skirt.  But since it’s like pulling teeth to get me to pay full price for anything (even at Goodwill), I kept checking back every week to see if it had a 1/2 price tag on it ~ hoping nobody bought it in the meantime.  The last time I checked ~ Hooray! ~ 1/2 price.  So of course I spent the $2.50 ~ and now it’s cut up and ready to make into some wallets and pouches for my Etsy shop.  Of course I’ll make something for myself while I’m at it.  :)

3-13 Our room
Y’know how most room numbers are painted on hotel room doors?  At the Atlantis Resort, our room number was on a special green glass plaque on the wall outside of the door ~ typical of the attention to detail throughout that property.  I can’t say enough about that place ~ it’s just unbelievable.

Photo 71 March 12

3-12 First Glimpse I’ve been hearing a lot about Royal Caribbean’s newest and largest cruise ship ~ Oasis of the Seas.  Today we got a chance to see it when it was docked in Nassau ~ this was our view of it (on the right) from our hotel room at Atlantis.
BTW ~ it’s neighbor on the left was a Disney ship :)

SSPX0031_2160 Traveling east on Alligator Alley ~ heading to Ft. Lauderdale for our flight to Nassau.   Our drive was 1-1/2 hours ~ our flight was 35 minutes.  Wish all our flights were that short!

3-9 JD
Can you believe it’s been almost a week and I haven’t see Alice In Wonderland yet!?  I love the way Johnny Depp plays such bizarre characters ~ no run-of-the-mill pretty-boy roles for him!  Some of my favorites (cover photos by Entertainment Weekly):

3-9 S'mores Guess what we made today?  (3 guesses ~ first 2 don’t count)  Our neighborhood had a “get-together” potluck and we brought our little grill and made s’mores.  They were almost as good as the ones we make over a campfire!

3-8 Colored pencils
I saw a post by Living in HD on Facebook today with a photo of colored pencils.  That photo was mostly in black & white, but the pencil tips were in color (very cool!).  I dragged out my box of pencils and (sort of) recreated that photo ~ only I wanted mine in full color.  I love the way it turned out.

3-7 Fat Quarter bundle
I love this fat quarter bundle called “Botanicals” from Joann’s.  Turquoise is “in” right now (or so I’ve heard) and I love the way it’s been combined with the greens and purples in these little bits of fabric ~ all in their own little decorative metal basket.

Layout 9 ~ At Home on the Farm

speedscrap 3-6-10 I did this layout for a Speed Scrap at Scrapbook-Bytes last night.  I think it needs a lot of tweeking, but it WAS a speed scrap after all and I’ll just leave it alone for now.

3-6 New Phone
My new phone ~ a Samsung Reclaim.  Lots of bells and whistles ~ although I have moments when I doubt my sanity because now I have to actually LEARN how to work all those bells and whistles.  Just trying to keep up with the grandkids.

3-5 Neti-pot
So I came home from Oregon with a major cold ~ the only thing I hate about air travel.  A friend of mine told me about this thing called a neti-pot to clear out your nasal passages.  It’s a little weird, but it actually helps a LOT with the congestion.  Now if they’d only come up with something to clear out headaches :(

Photo 63 March 4

3-4 Solar World My son-in-law’s new workplace ~ SolarWorld ~ and the reason for the move to Oregon.  I’m sure his favorite part is that he has a 5 minute drive to work instead of the 45 minute drive he had in Michigan.

Photo 62 March 3

3-3 Christmas face
Jen’s grandmother was a very creative person ~ she’s the one who really sparked an interest in me to try and be somewhat artistic.  Jen has a couple of her pieces and this is one of my favorites.

3-2 Going homeReady to head back home to the sunshine state.  It’s a totally different world out there in Oregon with all the houses on the hills and the mountains all around ~ love it!

 IMG_1699_2043
I guess they don’t get to see Mt. Hood all that often here in Oregon because of the mostly cloudy days, but when it does poke out it’s really magnificent.   Too bad this photo doesn’t reflect that, but at least I got to see it before I left to go back to Florida.
