My friend Beryl has a collection of colorful sun faces ~ these are just a few.

What’s in our fridge? As you can see we stocked up on water ~ with summer coming it’s a necessity to always have some on hand to carry with us when we go out.

My adorable little Tulip :) I’ve always loved giraffes ~ they’re so graceful and they have the most gorgeous eyelashes. My hubby bought me this one a long time ago and she still holds a special place in our living room (and our hearts).

Guess where we went today? If you said Costco, you’d be right ~ not that you'd win anything :) Cheapest lunch or dinner in town~ $1.50 for a dog and a drink ~ and it usually fills me up for the day.

See that little blue glow on the Wii? That means that it’s talking to our router so that we can stream movies and TV shows through Netflix. How fun! (Sorry about the blurry photo.)

My mother made this wreath out of seashells that she collected on the beach ~ I think it’s gorgeous!

Found this piece of artwork at Moe’s (one of our favorite places for Southwest cuisine – aka burritoes, etc.). They have a lot of these really colorful pieces, with different sayings, all over the restaurant. This one was above our table, so that’s how it got its picture taken.

First glance at our new Sweet Tomatoes ~ I love the way this one is laid out. Sure hope they add their New England Clam Chowder on a daily basis (they didn’t have any today) ~ it’s the best!
Took this photo with my phone ~ not the best, but you get the idea :)

Peeps ~ one of my vices (no matter what the holiday). I wonder how long these will last ~ maybe 24 hours?

The cold spell this winter really did a number on the plants down here ~ it’s nice to see some new buds appearing on the bushes.

The key to a good hotel room ~ a great bathroom! Lots of counter space, separate bathtub and shower … and a little private room for the toilet :)

Y’know how most room numbers are painted on hotel room doors? At the Atlantis Resort, our room number was on a special green glass plaque on the wall outside of the door ~ typical of the attention to detail throughout that property. I can’t say enough about that place ~ it’s just unbelievable.

BTW ~ it’s neighbor on the left was a Disney ship :)

Traveling east on Alligator Alley ~ heading to Ft. Lauderdale for our flight to Nassau. Our drive was 1-1/2 hours ~ our flight was 35 minutes. Wish all our flights were that short!

Can you believe it’s been almost a week and I haven’t see Alice In Wonderland yet!? I love the way Johnny Depp plays such bizarre characters ~ no run-of-the-mill pretty-boy roles for him! Some of my favorites (cover photos by Entertainment Weekly):

Guess what we made today? (3 guesses ~ first 2 don’t count) Our neighborhood had a “get-together” potluck and we brought our little grill and made s’mores. They were almost as good as the ones we make over a campfire!

I saw a post by Living in HD on Facebook today with a photo of colored pencils. That photo was mostly in black & white, but the pencil tips were in color (very cool!). I dragged out my box of pencils and (sort of) recreated that photo ~ only I wanted mine in full color. I love the way it turned out.

I love this fat quarter bundle called “Botanicals” from Joann’s. Turquoise is “in” right now (or so I’ve heard) and I love the way it’s been combined with the greens and purples in these little bits of fabric ~ all in their own little decorative metal basket.

My new phone ~ a Samsung Reclaim. Lots of bells and whistles ~ although I have moments when I doubt my sanity because now I have to actually LEARN how to work all those bells and whistles. Just trying to keep up with the grandkids.

So I came home from Oregon with a major cold ~ the only thing I hate about air travel. A friend of mine told me about this thing called a neti-pot to clear out your nasal passages. It’s a little weird, but it actually helps a LOT with the congestion. Now if they’d only come up with something to clear out headaches :(

My son-in-law’s new workplace ~ SolarWorld ~ and the reason for the move to Oregon. I’m sure his favorite part is that he has a 5 minute drive to work instead of the 45 minute drive he had in Michigan.

Jen’s grandmother was a very creative person ~ she’s the one who really sparked an interest in me to try and be somewhat artistic. Jen has a couple of her pieces and this is one of my favorites.

Ready to head back home to the sunshine state. It’s a totally different world out there in Oregon with all the houses on the hills and the mountains all around ~ love it!

I guess they don’t get to see Mt. Hood all that often here in Oregon because of the mostly cloudy days, but when it does poke out it’s really magnificent. Too bad this photo doesn’t reflect that, but at least I got to see it before I left to go back to Florida.
